Instituted
as the Most Distinguished Royal Collegiate Church of Guadalupe in
1751, the church needed a capitular body to take responsibility
for the sanctuary and the necessary spaces for the realization of
its activities.
From 1931 to 1974, the chapter
of Guadalupe met in this room to decide on administrative, political
and religious matters concerning the Collegiate Church.
Today
it houses a gallery of portraits of the men who filled the position
of Abbot of Guadalupe, head of the collegiate body. These paintings
acted as a visual repository of the institution’s history.
